Ben’s Flashing Porcelain is a cone 10 Helmer porcelain intended for atmospheric firings including wood-, salt- and soda-firings. This smooth clay is good for both hand-building and throwing. Artists choose Ben’s because it offers beautiful results from atmospheric firing with the aid of additional slips and glazes. When fired in oxidation to cone 10 it has a shrinkage of 14% and absorption of <1%.
Consider Ben’s Flashing Porcelain if you like John’s White Stoneware, McKenzie’s Stoneware or Mt. Baker Porcelain.
All of ABF clay bodies are manufactured at the Clay Business. We pug and de-air our clays to offer our customers the highest quality clay that is ready upon opening. Each box contains 50 lbs. of prepared clay which, for easier handling, is split into two cubes.
