Ultra Black Velvet Underglaze fires to a beautiful soft, dark matte color at cone 05 then deepens to a darker black at cone 5 and maintains it’s shade at cone 10. A clear glaze accentuates the color of the underglaze significantly at any temperature.
Ultra Black Velvet Underglaze may be muted when used under SM-10 Clear Satin.
SM-10 Clear Satin is a silky, stiff zinc-free clear glaze that works well as a liner or over underglazes. Use 2 coats over underglazes to show the color.
Due to variations in raw materials used during manufacturing, we recommend firing glazed test tiles before using each new batch number of glaze.
