Mudtools Rib #1 is the universally recognized traditional kidney-shaped pottery rib. Whether you are throwing clay on the wheel, hand-building or sculpting, the pottery rib is a classic and essential tool.
Shape #1 is the middle size of the Mudtool kidney-shaped ribs, which come in three sizes: #0 being the smallest, #1 the middle and #5 being the largest. It’s strength is in it’s size, not too big and not too small. The #1 will fit most hands and is a great size for making dinnerware.
All Mudtools polymer pottery ribs are made of a unique flexible material that will not develop burrs or cracks under normal use. Each polymer shape is available in a variety of hardnesses: red (very soft), yellow (soft), green (medium) and blue (firm).
Other shapes and sizes available in the red (very soft) are #0 small kidney, #2 spatula, #3 long kidney, #4 flattened kidney, #5 large kidney and small bowl.
Other available material options are as follows: yellow (soft), green (medium), blue (firm) and stainless.
