Avocado Velvet Underglaze is a pea green color that is vivid at cone 05, darkens at cone 5 and becomes a deep chartreuse at cone 10. A clear glaze deepens the color of the underglaze significantly at any temperature.
For Avocado Velvet Underglaze, we recommend using HF-9 Zinc Free Clear. If HF-10 Clear is used, color may shift.
HF-9 Zinc-Free Clear is recommended for use with underglazes to reduce the incidence of color shift. Most underglazes, stains, and coloring oxides will show their best color with Zinc-Free Clear.
Due to variations in raw materials used during manufacturing, we recommend firing glazed test tiles before using each new batch number of glaze.
