Talisman Test Sieve 100 Mesh

Ideal for sieving stains and test batches of glaze.

Talisman test sieves are molded from super-strong polycarbonate which has the rigidity and smooth feel of glass, resistant to UV damage, and virtually unbreakable. Most other test sieves we see in the market are made from PVC which is softer, less durable, and not so easy to clean. Polycarbonate resin is double the cost of PVC, but we think it's worth it to make a better quality product. Also worth noting that although plastics aren't great for the environment as a whole, PVC is widely considered the most toxic and hazardous of the lot.

Talisman test sieves use only 316 marine grade stainless woven mesh - the same material used in surgical instruments. The more commonly used 304 stainless is more susceptible to corrosion from chloride and other substances, and in finer mesh grades, can be more prone to cracking. 316 grade stainless material is 50% more expensive for us to buy than 304 grade.
